MBA is the most sought after career options by majority of the students after graduation. Selecting an institute to pursue an MBA degree is indeed a painstaking process. It definitely involves a lot of planning, identification of personal goals, preparation and information collection.
First and foremost, it is important to decide what one wants to specialize in. Some of the MBA students are confused about their specialization and hence may go wrong in selecting appropriate college to pursue their MBA. Some of the common criteria that people take into consideration are college (B-school) ranking, past placement record, salary packages, fees for the course, credibility of the faculty members, type of the course offered, and campus and hostel life (in case if it is a residential B- school).
If wants to pursue his or her MBA in niche specialized areas like ‘media’ (for e.g.) then colleges like MICA, Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication and FLAME (Communication) should be opted for. These colleges offer an MBA in media and communication.
For most of the students wanting to pursue their MBA, IIMs tops the priority list because of the obvious reasons. It is known to offer the highest salary packages apart from fulfilling all of the above criterias.
In India, a usual MBA degree course on an average costs Rs. 3, 00,000 to 4, 00,000. However, most banks do offer educational loans with minimal interest rates so that fees do not become a hurdle while selecting the top college of your choice.
